The Americans had failed to capture the world’s most wanted man for many years and the British Government were losing patients. They however had a cunning plan and this was to send in a group of British finniest, who would use their intelligence and skills to track Bin Laden and bring him to justice. Due to the news this week that the Americans had a lucky break and stumbled over Mr Bin Laden’s house, this sleeper cell has been temporarily stood down until the world needs rescuing again.
There are many conspiracy theories regarding this highly secret group of men and the missions they were training for, one of the most plausible is that many years ago at least one if not more plants infiltrated the group. They had been for the last 20 years guided by this person or persons where the training would take place and they had also made every effort to guide the type of training so that in the event these men were ever required they were well versed in their drills. The men themselves who attended the training were kept in the dark about what they were being lined up for, but there again, if they did know it would have just confused them anyway.
Who is the mole in the group, is there more than one infiltrator or is it all of them, a question for another moment in time! or to be monitored at the next mess meeting.
Why these men you may well also ask? This question is easily answered, everyone an expert in obtaining information that is considered secret or confidential without the permission of the holder of the information, more commonly known as spying and eespionage and who would know this just looking at them, oh just observe and you will see.
Even before the weekend formally started the advance party were planning and scheming, using all their skills to outwit one another and have that little bit of extra information to put themselves at an advantage, this included a cajoling and scheming game of “who could be stitched to arrange the following years meeting”. There was another game also going on, to throw Dixie as many red herrings as possible, to encourage his mind to run wild with ideas of what the test would be, this resulted in him doing a recce to the park for advanced Intel! But he failed.
The main party arrived on Friday, Reg Day being the first and the last, as per normal Willis & Cole, the latter having the excuse of having to attend a dying engagement that day. It shouldn’t go without a mention that Gilbert and Blackburn arrived after a route march with full kit and Cpl Stewart’s (code name MINT) impressive arrival!!
